# THE UNDERDOGS LAB GLOSSARY

Every word you'll trip over on our site, our labels and our lab reports. One line each. No chemistry degree required.

## ON THE LAB REPORT

### COA

Certificate of Analysis. The lab report on one exact batch. Your receipts.

### BATCH

One production run, tracked by a batch, lot or sample ID. Match the code on your pack to the code on the COA.

### THIRD-PARTY LAB

An outside lab that tests the product. Not the brand grading its own homework.

### ISO 17025

The international standard testing labs get accredited to. Somebody checks the checkers.

### POTENCY

How much THC and friends are in the batch. The headline number.

### PANEL

One group of tests on a COA, like potency, heavy metals or pesticides. More panels, more receipts.

### ND

Not Detected. The lab looked and found nothing it could measure. For the bad stuff, ND is the dream.

### LOD

Limit of Detection. The smallest amount the lab's gear can even see.

### LOQ

Limit of Quantitation. The smallest amount the lab can put an exact number on.

### MU

Measurement Uncertainty. The plus-or-minus. A good lab tells you how close its number is.

### PPM

Parts per million. The ruler for tiny amounts, like contaminants.

### CFU/G

Colony forming units per gram. How labs count microbes like mold and yeast.

### DRY WEIGHT

The number with the water weight taken out, so every sample gets measured on the same scale.

### HEAVY METALS

The panel for lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury. You want low or ND.

### PESTICIDES

The panel for what may have been sprayed on the plant.

### MICROBIALS

The panel for mold, yeast and bacteria.

### RESIDUAL SOLVENTS

The panel for anything left behind from extraction.

## THE CANNABINOIDS

### CANNABINOID

The family name for compounds like THC, CBD and CBN. The stuff the lab is counting.

### THCA

The raw form of THC that the plant grows. Heat turns it into Delta-9.

### DELTA-9 THC

The classic THC. Already active, no heat needed. Listed in mg on edibles and drinks.

### DELTA-8 THC

Delta-9's cousin. Same atoms, one double bond in a different spot.

### TOTAL THC

Delta-9 plus THCA times 0.877. The honest combined number.

### DECARBOXYLATION

The fancy word for heat turning THCA into Delta-9. Lighter does the chemistry.

### CBD

Cannabidiol. A cannabinoid that shows up on a lot of labels, often next to THC.

### CBN

Cannabinol. A cannabinoid that forms as THC ages. Shows up in some gummy blends.

### CBG

Cannabigerol. Comes from CBGA, the parent acid a lot of other cannabinoids start from.

### RATIO

How cannabinoids are split, like 1:1 THC to CBD. Equal parts, written short.

## THE FORMATS

### FLOWER

The dried bud of the plant. Weighed in grams, labeled in percent.

### PRE-ROLL

Flower already rolled and ready to burn. Zero rolling skills required.

### HASH

Concentrated plant resin. The sticky crystals collected and pressed together.

### HASH-INFUSED ROLL

A pre-roll with hash blended in. Slower burn, richer pull.

### CONCENTRATE

**Drink concentrate** gets mixed before it's used. Our half-gallon Dope Daiquiri jug is one: one jug plus 2 1/2 gallons of water makes 3 gallons of slush.

**Cannabis concentrates** are a different animal: oils, wax and shatter, made for vapes and dab rigs.

### READY-TO-DRINK

RTD for short. Open it and pour, no mixing. Like our 8oz Dope Daiquiri pouch.

### RESEALABLE

A lid that closes again. It's telling you the bottle is meant for more than one session.

### DISPOSABLE

An all-in-one vape. Battery, hardware and oil in one body. Use it, then recycle it.

### DRAW-ACTIVATED

No button. The device turns on when you inhale.

### GUMMY

A chewy edible. Labeled in mg, per piece and per pack.

### SCORED

A gummy with a line pressed in so it snaps clean in half.

### SERVING

The amount the label counts as one. Could be one piece, two, or half. Always read it.

### MG PER PIECE

How much is in one gummy. Pack total divided by piece count.

## FLAVOR AND AROMA

### TERPENES

Aromatic compounds that give each strain its smell and taste.

### TRICHOMES

The tiny sticky crystals on buds. Where the cannabinoids and terpenes live.

### STRAIN

The name of a plant's genetic line. Often a hint at the flavor family.

### LIMONENE

The citrus terpene. Same one in lemon and orange peels.

### MYRCENE

A ripe-fruit, musky terpene. Think mango right on the edge.

### CARYOPHYLLENE

The peppery, spicy terpene. Same family of notes as black pepper.

### PINENE

The pine terpene. Smells like a walk in the woods.

## ON OUR SITE

### STATE GATE

The step where you pick your state, so the site only shows what can ship there. Change it anytime from the pin button in the header.

### AGE CHECK

The first stop on the site. Adults only.

### ADULT SIGNATURE

Deliveries need an adult to sign, which is why we ship to street addresses, not PO boxes.
